Presented in a traditional black tolex covering, the Blackstar HT-20R MkII is a 20W tube combo for electric guitars. It sports clean overdrive channels, which can easily be accessed hands-free via the included footswitch.
The overdrive channel offers a three-knob tone stack and Blackstar’s proprietary ISF tonal filter, while the clean section gives you a simple tone control. Reverb is also on hand for adding space to the signal. Each channel offers two different voicings for multiple timbres.
With two ECC83 tubes in the preamp stage and two EL84 power tubes, the amplifier offers the rich, harmonically complex sound of tubes. You get all the breakup characteristics of this amp at a much lower output level by pressing the output power reduction switch. This takes the output power from 20W down to 2W. The speaker is a 12″ Blackstar 50.
This combo amplifier offers a 1/4″ line output and an XLR DI out. Both of these respond to a voicing switch that allows you to change the tonal characteristics of the emulated signal. Choose between 4×12″ closed-back or 1×12″ open-back cabinet sounds.
An effects loop with switchable level enables you to use the amp with guitar-level stompbox effects or line-level rackmount gear. You’ll also find 1/4″ 16- and 8-ohm speaker outputs, as well as a stereo MP3/line input and a USB audio output.
